I love looking at color trends for the upcoming year – and we’ve already seen Sherwin-Williams release it’s top color for 2020. They went with a classic blue they’re calling Naval. But one thing I’ve noticed in the European trends are some very interesting color combos! Let’s take a look at 3 combinations that I think are going to be hot for 2020.
1. Red + Pink
Did you see the Emmys a few weeks ago? There were SO MANY women in pink and red color-blocked gowns! And they looked uh-mazing! It was such a fresh and modern combination. They reminded me of the flower markets I used to visit when I lived in India! I love these colors together and they look amazing in the home, too. If pink and red are a bit too bold for you, why not bring this combo into a room through a fabulous pillow, or several glass vases in varying shades. But try the bold approach!
2. Emerald + Jade
I know people are talking about blues, but I think greens are the colors to watch for 2020. Combining a gorgeous deep green with a paler tone is super-chic. It also plays into the conversation about the earth, environment, and nature that’s only going to become more important in 2020. People will search out green for its fresh look, AND as a calm and serene color to make people feel more centered and rested!
3. Dark Pastel Blue + Green Leaf + Corn
I love using my trips as inspiration for color palettes! I spent a week in France in September and loved the fall colors- from the dark pastel blue of the sky, to the green leaf of the topiaries and the corn yellows from the flowers. I could live in a space surrounded by nature’s colors- and so could my clients! Using my client’s favorite travel photos to inspire their furnishings will remind them of their wonderful memories…and the colors never go out of style!
